| July 19 - August 30, 2008 Clubs - Exhibit at the ACT/Maple Ridge Art Gallery in Maple Ridge " Elements of earth" - shaped into images - Stone sculptures and Jewelry are on display. September 13, 2008 We celebrate our 50th anniversary, at our club house. Invitations will be send out soon. Event calender and field trips of the BC Lapidary Society incl. Exhibit at the Art Gallery July 19 was the Opening day of the exhibit and everything looks very good. Thanks on all the MRLC Members who are participating and to the curator of the Gallery Filio Scott for hosting the show. Annual Picnic What a day were had, a pig roasted to perfection, thanks to our great cook Walt, a lot of superb pot luck dishes, sunshine and a lot fun. The little park beside the club house worked out to be a great place for our annual barbecue. Enough trees for shade and to sit under, grass to roll in and the Allouette River invited for a swim. And somehow the mosquito's and pestering bugs had a day off, nobody had to go home with a lot of bits and bumps. Thanks to Walt for being such a great cook and Nigel for supplying the electricity for the rotisserie, which made the job a bit easier. 50th Anniversary Celebration Since we celebrate this year our 50th anniversary, our club house is in need of a major clean up and some repairs are necessary. Please help, there will be enough work for everybody. Everything little time you can spare is greatly appreciated. Also help is needed for organising all mandatory/necessary arrangements to make our anniversary celebration a huge success. Please contact Ken for more information. Friday's Barbecue/Hamburger Night from 5:45 -7 pm Last week we started again with our traditional Hamburger Night for the month of June, July and August - Friday Nights don't eat at home, or you will miss out on best Hamburger in town. |
